Covid-19 Update

The Local Board of Administration decided that the church will remain open for those who want to worship in person, and we will continue to broadcast our services online for those who want to join us virtually.  We also understand that many of you feel uncomfortable meeting in person right now, and we respect your decisions to worship from home. Please, use your best judgement when deciding on whether or not to attend a service, know that we love you all, and with God’s help, we’ll make it through this together.

We are asking that everyone wear a mask while in the public areas of the church and want to remind everyone to practice safe social distancing whenever possible.  While you are traveling in the hallways to class or the restrooms, before and after the services in the sanctuary when enjoying fellowship, and in the gym, please wear your mask.  Once seated in the sanctuary or the classroom, you may remove your mask if you wish.  We also want to clarify that we understand that some may have legitimate health reasons for not wearing a mask.  During these difficult times, we have an awesome opportunity to shine the love of Christ into our community. Let’s make the most of it.

In order to better promote social distancing, we have added a second service!

Sunday School

Meaningful Classes for Each Age Group

Join Us Sunday Mornings at 10:00

From preschool to senior adults, we have something for everyone. Sunday School is where we dig deep into the Bible and draw closer to God.

Neighborhood Kids Program

Neighborhood Kids is a place for children in grades K-6 to come and learn about their faith

Kids will love this!

A typical evening generally consists of singing together, prayer, Bible study, games, crafts, and sometimes even a snack!

Youth Ministry

“A place to connect with God and each other.”

In a separated world, what binds us together?

At Common Ground, we dig into the Word of God,
we celebrate the things that draw us closer to Him
and to one another,
and we enjoy the company of people who are
walking the same road.

Cherubs Nest Preschool

Cherub's Nest Preschool is a ministry of Athens Wesleyan Church. This website provides information about the organization, philosophy, program and policies.

Our Purpose

A loving, nurturing atmosphere will be provided in which children will learn about their uniqueness and potential as God’s creation, and develop the attitude that “school is fun.”
